The emphasis of the Kingdom and its great authority involved is balanced with the minimizing of position. Finally we see an elder as another sheep, but with a shepherd’s heart, and we see that apostles were not a religious aristocracy but the Lord’s gift to His people. The devastation of God’s dealings deposes us from the illusionary position we thought we had but never existed. (39 1/2 min.)
