We cannot be crying out for an outpouring of God unless we also grieve over the existence of our flesh nature. We cannot contend for an outpouring, yet remain in our flesh nature, expecting God to fill it. Our flesh cannot please God. Tonight, we ask for a grieving and a repentance for the flesh. It is not what we are in the flesh, it is what we are becoming in Christ. It is important that a believer sees himself–as well as his brother and sister–as a son of God.
