Christ Taught Us To Pray

In the beginning, God gave man dominion and authority over all the earth (Genesis 1:26-31). Adam and Eve handed the earth and all its glories over to Satan. Christ won back man’s right to rule over all creation when He defeated Satan on the cross. Christ has commissioned us to cast Satan out from this earth, plunder his house, and establish the Kingdom of God on this earth as it is in heaven. This revolutionary teaching elucidates what Christ was saying when He taught us to pray in Matthew 6:6-10.

Though limited as we are on the human level, our Lord walked in perfect authority over all things. The secret was this: He didn’t strive to be God but became a totally submissive man. Is this not the secret also of the sons of God who will have authority over futility?
