The Motivation Of Jesus

There is no question how the Father felt about His Son: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased” (Matthew 3:17), and we find it repeated several times in the Scriptures (Matthew 17:5; Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3: 21-22; II Peter 1:16-18). The Father being well-pleased was so impactful to Him that He opened up the heavens to speak with an audible voice to announce it. What made the Father happy was not that Jesus healed the multitudes, turned water into wine, or walked on water. The Father was well-pleased with Jesus because He loved His Father with all His heart, mind, soul, and strength. The first and foremost relationship in the Kingdom of God is the relationship between the Father and sons who are driven to please Him. Christ taught us what our motivation should be in that relationship: “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'” (Mark 12:28-31). We need to reconstruct our motivations. As sons of God, we must have the same motivation as Jesus, the first-born son. This motivation gives us the force and energy and power to walk through all the things we face and go through. Lord Jesus, we draw from You the motivation that was Your power and drive to accomplish the will of God on earth. You did the will of Your Father, but that was secondary to Your drive to please Him. Let that same drive and motivation exist in us. We declare that we will be a generation in this day that is motivated to please the Father, loving Him with all that we are. This Word should be heard along with “The Doctrine Of Jesus” that came Friday evening, January 26, 2018 at Mount Zion, NiterĂ³i, Brazil.
