The Scriptures reveal the evolution of man’s relationship to God. First God dwelt in a temple of stone, and man approached Him by prophet and priest. Then God ordained that man should be the temple of the living God–a temple not made with hands. Now God reveals the vision of the new Jerusalem where there is no temple–for there His people “see His face.” Each step we make in worship brings us closer to the total awareness of the Lord.
