AN EXTRA PORTION FOR THE SABBATH

The Sabbath of the past commemorated the creation Sabbath when God rested from His works. The Sabbath of the present is the Kingdom Sabbath in which we embrace the end of labor and futility and enter into His rest. Before possessing the promised land, Joshua was confronted by the Lord with a drawn sword. The sword is symbolic of the Word of God by which God’s fullness is appropriated. Today again we prepare to take the Kingdom that He has promised. Our sword again shall be the Word of the Lord. His Word in our mouth will accomplish all things. At the Passover came the judgment on the first-born of man and beast. By the Passover Lamb the first-born were redeemed and purchased unto the Lord. We were redeemed to become possessed by Him. We mature in God the day that we realize that we were purchased with a price and we are not our own.

Can the full blessing of Christ, our Passover, be ministered to us in all of His complete provision for us? Yes, but the pattern teaches us that the Passover offering was made by purified and dedicated hands. God grant us ministries who can minister to the Body the fullness of Christ.
