The Blind Men, The Elephant, And The Prophetic Community
The parable of the blind men who each tried to feel their part of the elephant describes so well the transition we are in as we move forward to become a prophetic community. Everyone has had different experiences in the Church. Your experience is not wrong, but it is not the whole picture. In this transition, we are not just solving problems; we are driven to break through into an ability to walk as a prophetic community. We are driven to see the Kingdom of God in the earth and committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. This is not a small vision, but we have the Word we need to succeed. Let there be a brokenness of spirit and a humility in us. We open our hearts, and we determine to not be like the blind men, just seeing our part of the elephant and disagreeing with others who don’t see it our way. We are a family, and we will have varied experiences among us, and some need deep healing. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you (Ephesians 4:32). Let this be our attitude as we dedicate ourselves to be the solution to creating God’s matured prophetic community.
