Understanding Obedience

Next Sunday, we begin our Passover celebration with the search for leaven. By removing the leaven from their homes, the Israelites cleansed themselves from that which would defile them. Likewise, we prepare our hearts for Passover by separating the precious from the vile. What defiled Egypt was Pharaoh’s disobedience to God. To avoid the judgment of death on the firstborn, Israel had to become completely obedient to Moses and his Passover instructions. Today, our obedience is essential as we, too, live in days of God’s deliverance and judgment. This message assists us in our preparation for Passover.
