The Bride Of Christ

The Father, throughout the Hebrew Scriptures, has likened His relationship with Israel to that of a marriage. In the New Testament, the comparison of a marriage relationship continues with Christ presenting the church to Himself as a wife without spot or wrinkle or blemish of any kind. Christ freed us from our sins to be joined to Him as a bride, but the scriptures state that the bride must make herself ready in order for the wedding to take place. If we, as the Bride of Christ, refuse to ready ourselves by continuing to live in the sin of division and schisms, we must ask ourselves: are we delaying Christ’s return for His wedding celebration and feast? We must end division and become one, the pure Bride that Christ is looking for.
