Our Oneness, The Measure Of His Glory
In John 17, Jesus said He gave us His glory to enable us to be one. The glory He spoke of is His very presence. The glory, or presence, of the Lord is what enables us to change and be transformed. The sign, then, of Jesus’ presence in the Church is our oneness. In the Hebrew Scriptures, Ezekiel describes the process of the presence of God departing from the temple; in chapter 43, he also prophesies the return of God’s presence and glory to Jerusalem and the temple. The lack of oneness which exists today in the Church is the sign that we are following the process of the Old Testament prophecies. The existence of schism and division that we have today is the witness of the Lord’s departure. Now, we must focus on the prophetic promise that the presence, the glory, of the Lord will return to His house. The witness of His return will be the return of oneness to the Body of Christ.
