WHY ME, LORD?
April 14, 1980 Monday P.M. Shiloh

On a late Monday evening the word began to unfold about the purity of motivation that is necessary for those who stand upon the threshold of the Kingdom of God. It deals with the measurements of our discipleship. He alone has the plumb line, the only ruler of measurement. The motivation in our heart for which we serve Him, is it selfish, or do we truly seek first the Kingdom of God? This 17 minutes or so is actually not a dictated message. It is a slow dictation to be transcribed and was never intended to be a tape message, but it will still be a blessing to you though you may find its truths reiterated a thousand times in the years to come. (17 min.)

This cassette tape contained the following 3 messages by John Robert Stevens.

“CALL ME MARA” RUTH 1:19-21
October 21, 1979 Sunday A.M. Shiloh

When God sought for a greatgrandmother of King David, a man after God’s own heart who said his heart was fixed on God, He picked Ruth, a woman of determined faith, without bitterness at the dealings of God. Her motherin-law changed her name from “pleasant” to “bitter” under those same dealings that Ruth endured. Bitterness results from the evaluation of your circumstances and God’s dealings without complete faith in the Word He has spoken. (33 min.)

BITTERNESS REMEMBERS WHAT GOD HAS FORGOTTEN
October 21, 1979 Sunday A.M. Shiloh

Bitterness is often a memory of distorted facts and our subjective reaction to the past. But God sees faith and accounts it for righteousness and blots out the memory of even our transgressions against Himself. Should we not also pray to forgive and forget, and account our brother’s faith as righteousness? (8 min.)

IS BITTERNESS YOUR FUTURE?
October 21, 1979 Sunday A.M. Iowa

If we live in our past bitterness, we will have no future in God. If the way that God has led has not perfected your spirit, you will have no future walk with Him. If you have not forgiven and forgotten, remember that God has not forgotten either. (44 min.)

Scriptures: Psa. 1:1-2; (Gen. 15:6); (Heb. 12:6); (Matt. 6:12); (Jer. 31:34); (II Sam. 6); (Psa. 138:8); (Mal. 3:6);(Heb. 12:11); (Job 23:10); (Heb. 12:2); (I Cor. 13:5); (Job 1:5); (I John 2:17); (Job 1:21)

VOICE IT WITH FAITH
June 10, 1979 Sunday A.M. Ana.

If you voice a need in unbelief or criticism you establish the need and problem. But if you voice a need, pinpointing it with a focus of your faith, you minister life and deliverance into the situation. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks wickedness. With the heart man believeth and speaketh deliverance. Only the spirit focused in faith can bring an end to the flesh. (43 min.)

THE POWER OF THE TONGUE
May 28, 1977 Saturday A.M. Ana.

It is what is in your heart and what is in your spirit that gives the force to every utterance you make. Our intake is not our defilement. What we speak from the heart and the spirit it conveys makes our words a blessing or a curse, life or death. (34 min.)

DEAD WORDS OR LIVING?
April 27, 1975 Sunday P.M. Val.

FLAMING GIFTS OR ASHES?

Every spiritual gift comes by God’s grace but a gift will only be what you make it. A gift becomes ashes by our neglect or a gift becomes a flaming ministry when we “give ourselves wholly to it.”
