Are You Willing?
The time period we are now in, between Passover and Pentecost, is one of the most significant times of our spiritual calendar. During these fifty days following the resurrection of Christ and leading up to the day of Pentecost, the disciples transitioned from followers into apostles. They were shaken to the core of their beings by the crucifixion of Christ; and in their minds they had only agreed to be followers of Jesus when they left all to follow Him. Now Jesus says, “as the Father has sent me, I also send you.” This reality had never entered their minds, and besides, they were still living in shock and fear following the brutalization and death of Jesus. During this spiritual season, we, like the disciples of Jesus’ day are being confronted by the Father to determine our willingness to be more than followers of Christ and to become God’s instruments in the earth — the Word made flesh.
