Devote Yourself To God’s Kingdom
Colossians 4:2 tells us to be devoted to prayer and to keep alert. These are powerful words. If your spirit is alert, you can sense that God is stirring us to be devoted to prayer in a relationship with Him. Our loyalty is to the Kingdom of God and our prayer must be for His will and His Kingdom. When the disciples were in the upper room, not knowing what to expect, they were continually devoting themselves to prayer (Acts 1:14). God poured His Spirit upon them and made them the answer. Creation is in travail, groaning for the manifestation of the sons of God who will set it free, and the Spirit is stirring us to be devoted to prayer as well (Romans 8:15-27). Jesus is at the right hand of the Father praying day and night for us to make this transition. We give ourselves to be created and to be devoted to prayer for His Kingdom.
