In Everything Give Thanks
The heart of this message is expressed in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” So much of our relationship with God is based on what He does for us; everything we have comes down from the Father of lights. What we contribute in the relationship begins with our thankfulness. It is an expression of our free will and becomes one of the greatest building blocks in our relationship with the Father. Thanksgiving is the beginning of worship; it also opens our eyes to see His kindness towards us. Practice being thankful as did David the psalmist, who created a list of all that he was thankful for. Meditate on it. This is God’s will for you – to pray without ceasing and in everything give thanks.
