Jonah prophesied the destruction of Nineveh, but God relented when He saw the response of the people. Likewise, God changed His mind about destroying Israel when Moses interceded on behalf of the people. Most people relate to prophecy with the attitude, “If God said it, it must happen.” However, true prophets of God recognize His warning and respond in a way that brings God’s true will in the earth.
