Pentecost — Power To Be His Witnesses

Jesus’ promise to the disciples in Acts 1 was, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses.” We want to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit and have God’s power move through us, but we miss the point if our focus is on ourselves. As we cry for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit, let’s do it with God’s motivation. He gives us the Holy Spirit so we can be His witnesses. Witnessing doesn’t work when it is a second-hand account about someone else; tell your story. Think back and write down your experiences in God. Remember the times God saved you and blessed you. Be thankful and let the joy of His salvation return to you. Let it be fresh and alive to you and open your heart and share it with others.
