Stand Fast In One Spirit
When the apostle Paul was in prison facing the threat of death, he wrote to the church at Philippi: whether I come and see you or be absent I may hear of your state, that ye stand fast in one spirit (Philippians 1:27). Paul lived for one thing: to see the house of God flourish. He knew that nothing could stop the people of the Lord if they walked in unity, for unity in the house of God is the evidence of satan’s defeat. This Word inspires us to set our hearts to serve the Lord. As Paul did, we can live with a drive and dedication that draws the joy and blessing of the Lord no matter what our circumstances are. The Word was preceded by a brief communion meditation that activates the past sacrifice of Jesus into a present appropriation.
