Under the Law, the sacrifices for sin had to be continually offered because it was impossible for those sacrifices to take away sins; in fact, they were a reminder of sins, and the consciousness of sin remained (Hebrews 10:1-4). However, through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time, He has perfected those who are sanctified (Hebrews 10:10-14). The sacrifice of Christ should set us free from condemnation (Romans 8:1), set us free from consciousness of sin (Hebrews 10:17-18), and set us free from a conscience to sin (Hebrews 10:22). When the Father says He will remember our sins no more, then we, in turn, should have an experience in which we become unconscious of sin and even lose our awareness that we could sin. Today, we appropriate the complete salvation experience that is ours in Christ. This Word is life-changing.
