When Christ was crucified, a re-arrangement took place in the realm of spirit in which the authority of the universe changed for all eternity. The purpose of the Church is greater than simply conveying the message of salvation. The Church must continue the revolutionary process begun by Christ on the cross to bring the principalities and powers of heaven under the dominion of Christ. He is waiting for a Church that will make every enemy His footstool (Hebrews 10:13). Our struggle is not on the physical realm and our weapons are not of this earth, but they are mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:3-4).

Remember, You Were Included

As Gentiles, we were grafted into the covenant and promises of God that were at one time only for the Jewish people. It was out of the openness of the hearts of the Jewish people that we, as Gentiles, were included. In this communion message, we recognize that Christ shed His blood for both Protestant and Catholic believers.  We are all included.

The Baptism Of Power

We are in a war to cast Satan out of this earth and to manifest the Kingdom of God on this earth.  To win this war, the Church needs an infusion of the Holy Spirit that will manifest the tremendous power of God–the power that raised Christ from the dead (Ephesians 1:19-20), and the power that the 70 moved in when Christ saw Satan fall like lightning (Luke 10:17-18).  This baptism of power by the Holy Spirit is what we need to enable us to be effective in our warfare.

In Oneness And Filled With The Spirit

Gary and Marilyn were invited by Father Cláudio and Father Antonio José and the bishops of Rio de Janeiro to speak to thousands of Catholic young people at a Pre-World Youth Day event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Father Antonio José officiated a charismatic Catholic mass. At the conclusion of the mass, Gary affirmed that we are already one, and in our oneness, the world may know that God sent His Son, Jesus (John 17:23). Being one, we must also be filled with the Holy Spirit and endued with power (Acts 1:8). At the conclusion of the message, Gary gave practical instructions on how to pray in the Spirit for Pope Francis.

Pope Francis’ leadership may cause radical global changes as a result of this time in Brazil. We do not know how to pray for him or these changes as we ought (Romans 8:26). But if the Body of Christ, in oneness and filled with the Holy Spirit, prays according to the will of God, we can see this time be the spark that initiates a worldwide outpouring of God’s Spirit on all of the nations.

We will not be able to take the land just by being dedicated to our little corner; only as one can we take the Kingdom. Today, those lies are being broken and we can see and know God as He really is: a wonderful and loving Father. We know Him and serve Him as our Lord, but today He becomes our Father.
